The Storyteller is a beautifully restored Dublin Gastro Pub,Who wanted to boost their sales through local sEO Strategies

The Storyteller came to The Cafe Specialists to reach more customers searching for pubs in their area. As Ireland's leading hospitality SEO agency, we knew exactly how to help them to turn online searches into physical foot traffic.

Despite having an incredible atmosphere and an amazing offering, The Storyteller flew under the radar in the fiercely competitive hospitality scene that is Dublin 2.

The pub lacked strong local search visibility, meaning the people who were searching for pubs and restaurants in the Grand Canal area weren't finding them on Google Maps and were missing out on one of Dublin's best options.

The Storyteller wanted to increase their foot traffic and increase their sales.

Our goal was to generate these sales by increasing online visibility for the pub through a tailored Local SEO strategy, focusing on high-intent customers.

Key Challenges Solved

Other target KPIs for SEO included:

  1. Increase lunch & dinner sales

  2. Drive sports, group & event bookings

  3. Increasing the number of people clicking 'Get Directions', as Google estimate that 80% of these people visit within 24 hours.

Our Local SEO Strategy

We implemented our local SEO for pubs framework to put this historic Dublin pub on the map.

Keyword Research

To boost The Storyteller's visibility and engagement, we conducted in-depth keyword research to find the most relevant and high-intent searches. Our research focused on location specific keywords as well as a variety of keyword groups, including broad terms (e.g. pub near me), category terms (e.g. gastropub in Dublin), and intent-driven searches (e.g. best Guinness near the Bord Gais Theatre).

Analysis

Before we began our optimisation work, we conducted a deep dive into The Storyteller’s online presence. This involved assessing their local search rankings, competitors and Google Business profile to identify potential areas for improvement. We also analysed their AI search presence to ensure that we captured searches from this growing channel.

Optimisation

As a result of the SEO optimisation, The Storyteller gained an extra 2000 people per month clicking 'Get Directions' to their pub. This led to a noticable increase in foot traffic and sales. With more of their target audience finding them online, Local SEO became an integral part of their marketing strategy, and we conducted continued optimisation for almost a year.

Business Impact

As a result of our Local SEO services, The Storyteller achieved their aim of improving the visibility of their pub. Most importantly, our work resulted in a huge increase in people clicking 'Get Directions', which led to increased foot traffic and sales.
